The Battle of Parwan was fought between sultan Jelal ad-Din Mingburnu of the Khwarezmid Empire and the Mongols. The sixty thousand men of the sultan was badly equipped and tired but after a battle that lasted a day, the sultan was able to overcome his enemies. After having won, Mingburnu headed for India to seek refuge together with his army of some fifty thousand men and several thousand refugees. However, he was defeated by Chinggis Khan at the Battle of Indus.
