Bacău (Hungarian: Bákó) is a Romanian county (Judeţ) in the Moldovia region, with the capital city at Bacău (population: 210,042). Its common abbreviation is BC.

Demographics
In 2002, it had a population of 706,623 and the population density was 113/km². According to the 2002 Census the Csángó (Ceangai) Hungarians form a small minority of around 1% or 5113 people. Some estimates put the total number of Csángó Hungarians at around 70,000.
