Bacau

Template:Titlelacksdiacritics Bacău is the name of a city and county (Bacău county) in Romania.
The city is situated among the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, and on the Bistritza River, which enters the Sereth River about 8 kilometres (5 miles) to the south. The Ghimesh Pass links Bacău to Transylvania.
During WWI and the occupation of Wallachia by the Germans, Bacău was the headquarters of the Romanian Army.
