Angola on the Lake is a hamlet (and a census-designated place) located in Erie County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 1,771.
Angola on the Lake is in the Town of Evans and is west of the Village of Angola. The hamlet is located on the shore of Lake Erie.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 6.5 km² (2.5 mi²). 6.5 km² (2.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,771 people, 757 households, and 480 families residing in the village. The population density is 271.3/km² (701.4/mi²). There are 943 housing units at an average density of 144.5/km² (373.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.76% White, 0.34% African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. 0.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 757 households out of which 23.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.7% are married couples living together, 10.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.5% are non-families. 32.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.34 and the average family size is 2.95.
In the community the population is spread out with 20.9% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 27.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 91.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.6 males.
