Angola is a village located in Erie County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,266.

History
The Village of Angola was incorporated in 1873.
In June 2004 an attempt to dissolve the village was thwarted by a judicial ruling that the petitions for a referendum were invalid.
Geography
Angola is located at 42°38'21" North, 79°1'51" West (42.639109, -79.030709)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.7 km² (1.4 mi²). None of the area is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,266 people, 844 households, and 618 families residing in the village. The population density is 611.8/km² (1,589.5/mi²). There are 903 housing units at an average density of 243.8/km² (633.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.60% White, 0.44% African American, 1.32% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. 1.46% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 844 households out of which 39.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% are married couples living together, 14.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.7% are non-families. 22.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.13.
In the village the population is spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $40,050, and the median income for a family is $48,352. Males have a median income of $37,931 versus $27,298 for females.
