Amy Madison is a fictional character in the U.S. television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, played by Elizabeth Anne Allen.

Amy is a classmate of Buffy's at Sunnydale High School. She first appears in the season one episode, "The Witch", when she and Buffy both try out for cheerleader. Amy performs poorly in the tryouts, but a series of strange injuries to other contestants move her up in the standings. Buffy suspects that Amy is a witch who is using her powers to harm the other girls so that she can be a cheerleader. Investigation reveals that Amy's mother, a very powerful witch, has switched bodies with her because she wants to relive her youth. Buffy and the Scoobies succeed in restoring Amy to her own body and trapping her mother in an old cheerleading trophy.

Amy continues to attend Sunnydale High and appears in several more episodes. She has inherited her mother's powers and has become a potent, if sometimes ineffective witch. This is demonstrated in season two, when she performs a spell for Xander to help him win the love of Cordelia. The spell goes awry and causes the entire female population of Sunnydale, except for Cordelia, to desire Xander. Caught in her own spell, a jealous Amy temporarily turns Buffy into a rat.

In season three, the townspeople (under an evil influence), prepare to burn Amy, Buffy, and Willow at the stake. To escape her bonds, Amy turns herself into a rat. Then, being a rat, she cannot remove her own spell. Willow captures rat Amy and keeps her in a cage until she can be restored. Willow makes several unsuccessful attempts to "de-rat" Amy over the next two seasons. On one occasion, Willow accidentally succeeds in returning Amy to human form for a few seconds, but does not realize it and so turns her back into a rat immediately.

By season six, Willow has become an extremely powerful witch and permanently "de-rats" Amy. Amy then enables Willow in her downward slide into magical addiction by encouraging rampant use of it and introducing Willow to Rack.

Amy returns for a final time in the season seven episode "The Killer in Me", when she casts a spell on Willow which causes her to assume the form of Warren Mears, a man Willow tortured and killed while in a rage over the murder of her lover, Tara.
