Amber Tamblyn

Amber Rose Tamblyn (born May 14, 1983) is an American actress and aspiring poet, best known for her television roles. She currently plays the title character on the CBS series Joan of Arcadia.
She was born in Santa Monica, California, the daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn and musician/writer Bonnie Murray. At age 10 she played Pippi Longstocking at the Santa Monica Alternative School House; her father's agent, Sharon Debord, was attending as a family friend and ended up convincing her father to allow Amber to go on auditions.
Tamblyn played Emily Bowen Quartermaine for six years (1995-2001) on the soap opera General Hospital.
Tamblyn appeared with her father in the films Rebellious and Johnny Mysto: Boy Wizard. She has also appeared in Live Nude Girls (1995), The Ring (2002) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005).
She has guest starred as Janice on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and on Boston Public, Punk'd (tricked for losing someone else's dog) and CSI: Miami.
Poetry
Tamblyn has self-published two chapbooks of poetry, Of the Dawn and Plenty of Ships, and has participated in poetry readings at various venues, particularly in California.
A new 96-page book of poetry, Free Stallion (ISBN 1416902597), will be published in October 2005 by Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, a corporate sibling of CBS.
