Alan Wray Tudyk (born March 16 1971 in El Paso, Texas) is an American stage, film, and television actor. Raised in Plano, Tudyk studied drama at Lon Morris Jr. College (winning the Academic Excellence award for Drama) and Juilliard.
In 1999, Tudyk made his Broadway debut with Epic Proportions. His film work include roles in Patch Adams (1998), 28 Days (2000), Wonder Boys (2000), A Knight's Tale (2001), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), and I, Robot (2004).
Tudyk starred as Wash in the science-fiction television series Firefly, and is set to reprise that role in the film Serenity (2005).
Tudyk is scheduled to star in Spamalot for several months starting in June 2005, filling in for Hank Azaria while the latter works on a new season of Huff.
