Zvaigzdes
|
Žvaigždės in Lithuanian mythology are stars. Žvaigždės are daughters of Saulė and sometimes Mėnulis. One of most important Žvaigždės is Aušrinė. Aušrinė’s sisters are other important goddesses, like Vakarinė (the evening Venus, she who makes the bed for Saulė), Indraja (Jupiter), Sėlija (Saturn), Žiezdrė (Mars) and Vaivora (Mercury). God Žvaigždikis has substantial links with the Žvaigždės. These 6 sisters of Saulė were eldest daughters. 3 of them were living between people and 3 were shining in the sky. Vaivora was traveling on the earth only three days, Aušrinė 9 and Indraja 27.
