The municipality
Zundert is one of the most agricultural municipalities of the Netherlands. 10% of all "boomkwekers" (nursery-men) work in Zundert.
Zundert was expanded in 1997 with the former municipality of Rijsbergen.
Zundert, Achtmaal, Klein Zundert, Wernhout and Rijsbergen were all liberated on October 25, 1944 by the American 104th Infantry Division 415th regiment, "the Timberwolf Division" 104th infantry division homepage (http://www.104infdiv.org/index.htm)

Zundert is the birthplace of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh.
Zundert also boasts the oldest and most technically advanced flower parade in Europe, held every first Sunday in September.
Rijsbergen
Until 1997 Rijsbergen (population 6,100) was an independent municipality, after which it was added to Zundert. In the territory of the former municipality was one of the most important border crossings of the country: Hazeldonk. Hazeldonk was ceded in 1997 to Breda.
In the town is an AC (Aanmeldcentrum, i.e. Asylum Request Center).
