Yes, Dear
|
Yes, Dear is a television comedy program which premiered in 2000 on CBS. It stars Anthony Clark, Jean Louisa Kelly, Mike O'Malley and Liza Snyder. The generic nature of the show and the fact that all these performers had recently starred in their own failed sitcoms led critics to savage it as one of the worst new shows of the season and a likely candidate for first cancellation of the season. Instead, Yes, Dear scored strong ratings for CBS over the next 4 seasons, in spite of little promotion and a number of timeslot switches. Finally, in spring 2004, CBS pulled the plug on the program, but then ordered an additional 13 episodes to be shown at a later date. With the cancellation of the John Goodman sitcom Center of the Universe, CBS began airing the new Yes, Dear episodes on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 in the 9:30 PM EST timeslot. The show did better than many expected and CBS ordered an additional series of episodes for the 2005-2006 season.
