Woo can be a general term for joy, in either a realistic or sarcastic manner, and is often paired with the word "yay" (for example "woo, yay!" or "woo and, verily, yay!"). The phrase is generally used online and may have originated from the website B3ta or possibly from the TV show The Simpsons, where Homer Simpson frequently cries out "Woohoo!" when he has just succeeded at something.
