Dr. William M. Connolley is a climate modeller serving as Senior Scientific Officer in the Physical Sciences Division of the British Antarctic Survey. He believes that there is a consensus in the scientific community about climate change topics such as global warming, and that the various reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) accurately summarize this "IPCC consensus".

He believes that scientists can and should participate in public understanding of science, and does this by posting to sci.environment (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/sci.environment/search?q=connolley&start=0&scoring=d&) and writing for RealClimate as well as a personal blog (http://mustelid.blogspot.com) and contributing avidly to Wikipedia as user:William M. Connolley.

He is also a 3 dan Go player, beekeeper and mountaineer.
