Wheel of time
|
- This article is about a conception of time in religion and philosophy. For the fantasy series by Robert Jordan, see The Wheel of Time.
The wheel of time or wheel of history is a concept in several religions and philosophies, notably dharmic religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism, which regard time as cyclical and consisting of repeating ages.
In Buddhism, one conception of the wheel of time relates it to Kalachakra.
The wheel of time was one basis for the fictional world of the bestselling The Wheel of Time book series by Robert Jordan. In this world, time follows cyclic ages in which major events repeat themselves, although these ages are very long.
