Wexford Township, Michigan

Wexford Township is a civil township in Wexford County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 798. The township is in the northwest corner of the county.
Sherman is an unincorporated community on Michigan State Highway 37 in the southeast corner of the township.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 94.6 km² (36.5 mi²). 94.6 km² (36.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 798 people, 298 households, and 213 families residing in the township. The population density is 8.4/km² (21.9/mi²). There are 379 housing units at an average density of 4.0/km² (10.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.62% White, 0.13% African American, 1.25% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.01% from two or more races. 0.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 298 households out of which 37.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.4% are married couples living together, 6.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% are non-families. 24.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.10.
