Wesley Chapel is a census-designated place located in Pasco County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 5,691. In 2003, some residents of Wesley Chapel started a movement to incorporate the community (including areas not in the official CDP). This "city", which would have been the largest in Pasco County in terms of size and population had much opposition from some wealthy, prominent residents, and never materialized.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 15.7 km² (6.1 mi²). 15.7 km² (6.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.49% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 5,691 people, 2,021 households, and 1,695 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 362.6/km² (939.5/mi²). There are 2,072 housing units at an average density of 132.0/km² (342.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 82.06% White, 7.17% African American, 0.21% Native American, 5.22% Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 2.51% from other races, and 2.71% from two or more races. 11.86% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,021 households out of which 45.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.0% are married couples living together, 6.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.1% are non-families. 11.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.82 and the average family size is 3.06.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 29.1% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 41.0% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 96.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.9 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $65,293, and the median income for a family is $66,978. Males have a median income of $47,240 versus $32,664 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $25,897. 1.9% of the population and 0.9% of families are below the poverty line.
