The Weather Girls were a United States girl group (singers Martha Wash and Izora Armstead) who scored a massive disco hit with 1983 classic It's Raining Men. (The song had been offered to a who's who of female singing legends including Donna Summer, Grace Jones, Diana Ross, Cher, Chaka Khan, Teena Marie, Gloria Gaynor, and even Barbra Streisand before being accepted by Wash and Armstead). They were previously known as Two Tons O' Fun, under which name they recorded the number 2 American Billboard Disco chart hit Earth Can Be Just Like Heaven (1980) and the number 29 American R&B chart hit Just Us, (1980). They also backed Sylvester.
