Waukee is a city located in Dallas County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,126, but a special census conducted by the city in 2004 counted 8,132 residents.

Waukee is located at 41°36'32" North, 93°51'55" West (41.608974, -93.865320)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 21.8 km² (8.4 mi²). 21.7 km² (8.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.12% is water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 5,126 people, 1,927 households, and 1,445 families residing in the city. The population density is 235.9/km² (610.9/mi²). There are 2,087 housing units at an average density of 96.0/km² (248.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 98.17% White, 0.43% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.57% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 0.51% from two or more races. 0.74% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,927 households out of which 43.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.8% are married couples living together, 8.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% are non-families. 21.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 3.12.
In the city the population is spread out with 30.4% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 36.4% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 7.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $58,024, and the median income for a family is $64,362. Males have a median income of $38,958 versus $30,898 for females.
