Wasteland 2042

Wasteland 2042 is a mod of the commercial computer game Battlefield 1942 (2002). A total conversion mod, Wasteland 2042 features a post-apocalyptic theme similar to the Mad Max environment. The mod had its first public release in February 2004 and featured extensive thematic changes to the original game, several original maps, and many original vehicles and weapons.
In the same mod niche, released several months later, is Dead Cities. Also for BF1942, it has a similar Mad Max/post-apocalyptic type theme, but executed differently by a different mod team.
The Wasteland 2042 mod has not had any further releases, although the website was redone in April of 2004.
