In 1983, the band spent most of the year playing a German club circuit and built a strong fan base. After doing a demo, they were signed by the independant label Mausoleum.
The original members recorded and toured for the first two albums. Debut Burning the Witches in 1984 and Hellbound in 1985.
In 1985, they band was signed to Phonogram.
In late 1985, after the Hellbound tour, Rudy Graf left and was replaced by ex-Stormwitch guitarist Niko Arvantis.
True As Steel, released on August 18, 1986 the album got a lot of American metal radio airplay because of its single Fight For Rock. After this album's release was the production of their first video clip for MTV for "Fight For Rock"
After the True as Steel tour ended, bassist Frank Rittel left and was replaced by Tommy Henriksen and guitarist Peter Szigeti parted with the band and was replaced by Tommy Bolan. They then released their fourth album Triumph and Agony on September 5, 1987. It would be their last album.
The band broke up after their first and only extensive U.S. tour, opening alongside Sanctuary for Megadeth.
Drummer Michael Eurich and guitarist Niko Arvanitis were replaced by guitarist Jon Devin and ex-Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli. As Doro Pesch was the only original member left, rather than producing under the name Warlock, she continued on using the name Doro. She is still performing today, and still performs Warlock material, having re-released a number of Warlock titles.
