Wahta Mohawk Territory, Ontario

Wahta Mohawk Territory is an Indian reserve on the Musquash River in south-central Ontario, Canada in the District Municipality of Muskoka.
The Wahta Territory is the site of an eight-kilometre gap in Highway 400, where the roadway remains a two-lane highway. An agreement was reached with the government of Ontario in 2003, allowing freeway construction through the reserve lands. Construction began in 2004, and is expected to be complete in 2007.
