Waddle Dee

Waddle Dee is a Nintendo character from the Kirby video game and anime series. Waddle Dee are little creatures that inhabit the planet Popstar. They are similar in size and shape to Kirby; yet are red with tan faces rather than Kirby's pink. In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, a single Waddle Dee helps Kirby but in general they are enemy characters although they don't pose much of a threat. Sometimes they can be seen wielding parasols: when Kirby inhales them he will get the "Parasol" ability. In the anime, Kirby: Right Back at Ya, there are many Waddle Dees that serve their master, King Dedede. In Kirby 64, Waddle Dee is also a friend of Kirby, just like Dedede. In the DS game Kirby:_Canvas_Curse, Waddle Dee is a playable character unlocked by completing the game with Kirby.
Waddle Doo is a subtype of Waddle Dee with a single, large eye in place of Waddle Dee's face. Waddle Doos can fire beam weapons and Kirby can get the "Beam" ability by inhaling them. In Kirby 64, this is also what Waddle Dee becomes when he is possessed by Dark Matter. Waddle Doo is also playable in Kirby:_Canvas_Curse when the player either beats the game with every other character, or beats the game with a copy of Kirby:_Nightmare in Dreamland or Kirby and the Amazing Mirror in the GBA slot of the Nintendo DS system.
