The Victorian Arts Centre is a complex of theatres and concert halls in the Southgate precinct of Melbourne, Australia. It is located by the Yarra River and St Kilda Road, the city's main thoroughfare.
Although the buildings themselves are somewhat nondescript, particularly the main concert hall, the complex retains landmark status due to its massive steel spire and its wraparound base, designed to reflect a ballet-dancer's tutu.
There are two distinct buildings at the Arts Centre, the Melbourne Concert Hall, and the Victorian State Theatre. The wider arts district includes the adjacent National Gallery of Victoria International and Victorian College of the Arts, as well as the nearby Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
