Velimir Ilic

PhD Velimir Ilic (born 1951) is current Minister of Capital Investment in Serbian government, cabinet of Prime Minister Vojisalav Koštunica..
He was born on Čačak on May 28 1951, and studied at the University of Belgrade, graduating from the Faculty of Technology in the Department of Construction Materials. Afterwards he worked for different construction firms, and became a private enterpreneur in 1986.
His first political activities were in the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) from 1990. He was elected as the mayor of Cacak in 1996 by defeating the Socialists. Shortly thereafter he left the Serbian Renewal Movement in 1997, where he was the president of the local branch of the SPO, and founded and presided the New Serbia Party. In 2000 he joined the Parliament of Serbia and Montenegro as a deputy, and is currently the Minister of Capital Investment.
His vulgarity made many problems inside of the government, and the worst was when he stated he "will chop off Mladjan Dinkic's (Minister of Finance) fingers". G17 Plus threatened to leave the government if Ilic don`t apologize. He was also recorded while talking on the phone that he would like to let B92 TV station reporter Olja Beckovic have sex with him if she was not so ugly. Ilic attacked Apolo TV reporter physically, by kicking him with a leg in the station studio.
He is married and the father of five children.
