Vadnais Heights is a city located in Ramsey County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,069.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 21.5 km² (8.3 mi²). 18.9 km² (7.3 mi²) of it is land and 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 12.06% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 13,069 people, 5,064 households, and 3,448 families residing in the city. The population density is 692.2/km² (1,793.4/mi²). There are 5,132 housing units at an average density of 271.8/km² (704.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 91.67% White, 1.48% African American, 0.46% Native American, 4.53% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.47% from other races, and 1.38% from two or more races. 1.61% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 5,064 households out of which 36.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% are married couples living together, 10.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% are non-families. 24.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.12.
