Mercedes-Benz W108
Hi! As part of the WikiSyntax project, I'm working on fixing broken redirects, one of which being Mercedes-Benz W109 → Mercedes-Benz W108. I see that you've written many stubs for MB models; could you be persuaded to write one for the W108 as well? Acura TSX
The TSX really has no predecessor. The Integra is smaller than the TSX in terms of size and engine displacement, as well as being cheaper. The Integra's true successor is the RSX, & it's sold as an Integra in Japan.
Cadillac V8 engine (and other great "technology")
Came across your article. My compliments on the good work, it is an excellent addition to an encyclopedia. My interest, of course, comes from owning a few of these engines beginning with a "500" in a 76 Coupe de Deville that was the last monster (5,000 lb) Caddy but an outstanding vehicle. Followed this with a 79 Eldorado but don't remember the engine. However, have the most vivid of memories of the "future in automotive engineering" (or so the salesman said) of my 81' Eldorado 4-6-8. Took a bath on this abomination and went back down to a "reliable" Coupe de Ville in 1982 with its wonderful HT4100! This one had a disease in more than just the engine and spent more time in the shop than on the road. – End of long relationship with GM, and after the salesman assured me I had made the right decision to quit on Caddys, bought the most expensive Ford had to offer: an 84 Continental Valentino. (Which reminds me to check Wiki for an article). This, of course, was the one with the famous vibrating steering at speeds over 60mph. Disgusted with America cars, I broke my pledge to never buy "foreign" and decided to buy the best -- and the sexiest. Bought an 86' Benz 560SL. Wanna hear about the famous rubber "O-ring" nightmare whose disintegration (like they did on the Space Shuttle Challenger) at high speed almost killed me and who knows how many other owners? After that, I was ready to buy a Vespa -- or walk. Ted Wilkes

Rotary vs. Radial
You added two pictures to the article on rotary piston engines, both of a Continental design from 1944. So far as I am aware, no large rotaries were built after about 1920. I am pretty certain the pictures show a radial as opposed to a rotary. Please read the article in question and decide if the pictures you added are correct, as I'm pretty sure they should be removed.

Compact vs. midsize in European cars
I've noticed that you've labelled several European cars like the Austin Allegro as 'compacts' when they were originally down as 'midsize'. Is this applying US vehicle size standards to European cars, and is it appropriate to do so? —Morven 19:46, May 18, 2005 (UTC)
- Referring to "European market midsize segment" or something of the sort might be a better idea. The Allegro is more of a "lower midsize", like the Astra or the Focus, while the Maxi would be "higher midsize", like the Vectra or the Mondeo. --Pc13 12:30, 2005 May 27 (UTC)
Car Pictures
How don't car pictures add value to articles about cars?!?!
On this page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari - there are links to a Ferrari store and a galleria. And car pictures are "low value?" Um, what?

User 'carpictures' has edited my posts here (and elsewhere). Earlier he had some posts up referring to you as a 'fuckhead' on his weblog, which he's now removed. See the history page for this user-talk page for more information.
I believe he's added in photographs simply to drive traffic to his website car-pictures.ws - he's contributed nothing else to this

Innocenti
I noticed all the model links on the Innocenti page pointed to their BMC/Austin equivalents, so I separated the Innocenti 90/120/3C (which had a very distinct bodywork) into its own page. However, I'm not happy with the page name, I don't feel it's quite correct - I've called it De Tomaso because the car was introduced after Alessandro De Tomaso bought the company. With the BMC engines, the car was called 90 (998cc engine), 120 (1275cc engine) or De Tomaso (performance version), but after Innocenti switched to Daihatsu engines, the car was called 3C, but calling the article Innocenti 3C is incorrect, as the name was only used after the car had existed for six years. I misunderstood. I thought you were writing History of Ferrari from scratch. If you're actually using content, I will restore the article and convert it to a redirect to that article. You will be able to get to the long rambling content by stepping back through the page history. Unless you suggest otherwise, I'm only going to restore one of the two versions of that article. Engine power
Hi,
Would you like to join the discussion at Talk:Horsepower? You have noticed that I have been updating 'hp' values. The term 'hp DIN' that I used may be 'odd' as you say. My focus was on eliminating ambiguity in the solitary term 'hp' and I welcome ideas for better terminology. For example, the Mercedes 150 kW engine is described simultaneously by Mercedes USA as '201 hp' and '204 hp'. Further errors occur when the hp value is used by editors to convert back to kW. That 150 kW engine example could be misconverted as 148 kW, 150 kW or 152 kW. Take a look at what others have said and I welcome your input there. Bobblewik (talk) 14:38, 30 May 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for taking time to give me feedback on the "info boxes". I appreciate help in getting the layout right. About the "automobile series": should someone edit Wikipedia:WikiProject_Automobiles/Layouts so that it reflects what really should go into automobile articles? Multiple links to the same article
I generally avoid multiple links to the same article. Sometimes I reduce multiple links. It is almost always secondary to my main reason for editing the article. RE: Hummer H2
Actually, what I did was I added comments for people who are much more experienced with the vehicle as guidelines for research and copyediting; that is why the <!-- comment --> tags exist. Replying to that comment may have been a mistake, but I'm human too, so please cut me some slack. My comments, frankly, contain merit, and that article is in dire need of editing. Bishonen does the same thing with the comment tags; that's how she helped me copyedit Civil Air Patrol. I do not see any rule against using it in that context. If you're going to remove my comments, that's fine, but please replace them on the talk page instead. Linuxbeak | Talk | Desk 18:59, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)

It looks like you did a false-move via copy and paste, rather than the "move page" feature. Please use the Wikipedia:Move page feature for future moves, as otherwise the edit history of the page is lost or inaccurate. I deleted and removed to fix it in this case. Units for foot-pounds
When I copied the information from the LT4 page, I assumed "ft.lbf" was a typo, but I see now that it's actually a pretty common way of abbreviating "foot-pounds". It would be somewhat difficult for someone who knew little of US units to figure this out, since no search on Wikipedia ("ft·lbf", "ft.lbf", "ft lbf", and so on) will actually get you to the foot-pound page. Do you think it would make sense to put a redirect in from ft·lbf to Foot-pound and possibly link it (sparsely or at least initially) in articles? I'm somewhat new here and not sure that it's a valid use for redirects, but I think it would be useful. —HorsePunchKid→龜 23:13, 2005 Jun 16 (UTC)

Use of Exotic Car Pictures
I'm glad you liked my Enzo pictures and seeing how Wikipedia needs a few more car photos, I'm willing to let any of the pictures on this page (http://www.scarsdaleconcours.com/2005gallery/index.htm) from dscn1488.jpg through dscn1593.jpg be used. These are all from the Scarsdale Concours so there are quite a few exotic cars mixed in.
