report related??

You have a heading that says "report related stuff". Is it telling people to report stuff that is related? Or does it mean "report-related stuff"? You see how magnificently efficiently a modest little hyphen can disambiguate. Michael Hardy 00:55, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Humanbot bugs

Hi, I caused some damage via humanbot; it removes/mangles some puntuation, like "+" and dashes. I manually checked my edits and reverted many. Please check out User talk:Humanbot; I'm worried others may unwittingly be mangling pages.

Oops

Oops – I remember doing that one. I did think I had only done one correction, but it would seem that I was wrong... Sorry, and cheers! smoddy 10:11, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know about the update. Well done: Humanbot is great! Keep up the good work. Cheers, smoddy 09:59, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

PlayStation and Xbox

Humanbot seems to want to replace the words "PlayStation" and "Xbox" with exactly the same words (see my contributions for an example).

Also, you mention not to use more than one instance of humanbot in firefox, is it ok to have two, but open in different instances of firefox, as opposed to just different tabs of the same instance? I tried, and it seems to work, but i dont want to screw it up. that way i can double my productivity! p.s. great work - thanks Bluemoose 21:44, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

VfD closing semi-automator

Sounds like a good idea, though I rarely close VfDs -- too many trolls out for my head. RickK 00:01, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)

SQL query...

I notice you say on the pages related to Humanbot (for which, many kudos) that you're finding duplicates in your SQL queries. You don't give an example, so I'm not 100% sure, but is SELECT DISTINCT ... what you're looking for? If not, could you give some more detail, I might be able to help. Alai 04:30, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Actually, that's outdated info. I don't need to remove duplicates. Thanks anyway. :) r3m0t talk 05:50, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)

Just an idea for Humanbot...

Removal

Hi. I left a message at User_talk:Humanbot because I was just getting an 'update' message when I tried to use the script. You've removed my questions without comment - do you not want anyone else to join this project? Paul Tracy\talk

OK thanks. Paul Tracy\talk

General bot question

Hi R3m0t, I'm wondering how easy it is to set up a bot that does specific text substitution. I had the idea of changing the stub sorting system on the Spanish wikipedia, but to do that it would require doing thousands of specific substitutions of text like {{stub about|math}} to {{math-stub}} and {{stub about|biographies}} to {{bio-stub}}. I have no clue how to write bot programs, but I do know a bit of C++ =). Probably doesn't help one bit. But if you could, let me know about how easy it would be to do that, and perhaps where I could learn how =). Thanks. --Spangineer (háblame) 15:13, Jun 15, 2005 (UTC)

Very easy. Honest. :) I will be able to run it for you. Just write up a list of substitions and get it signed by many people (say 20) on a Spanish wikipedia page, and I will be able to run it. r3m0t talk 15:44, Jun 15, 2005 (UTC) PS I am quite happy to teach you something about bot-writing if you really want.
Cool, thanks alot. I'm talking with them about it now; we'll see how long it takes for people to agree, vote, etc. And yeah, I think it would be cool to learn something about those bots. Is there source code somewhere that I could peruse? How high a level of programming language is it done in? --Spangineer (háblame) 16:32, Jun 15, 2005 (UTC)

Book Of Esdras

I took the extraordinary liberty of turning this page, which you had marked for speedy deletion, into a disambig page, and in the process removed the speedy notice. Just wanted to give you a heads-up about this. If you think that I did wrong, you or someone is sure to let me know. Smerdis of Tlön 15:39, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Mind Benders

Hello! I've noticed your past interest in Wikipedia:Mind Benders and wanted to share the following announcement with you! I've taken over the responsibilities of Mind Benders, and the page will now be regularly updated. Right now, the pre-round is open (it's more of a creative artistic competition), and round one will open soon (the questions are done, we just need to wait for the pre-round to begin/finish)! So why not check it out? I'll keep you updated! Thanks, Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:29, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

P.S. Feel free to pass this news on to other Wikipedians.

Wikipedia:Most wanted stubs

I know you're good with this kind of stuff, so I was wondering if you could find the time to update Wikipedia:Most wanted stubs. I think it would be a good resource for what should be our priorities. Thanks for your help. --Dmcdevit 07:51, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
