Hi, I nominated you for adminship. Hope you don't mind, and good luck. Meelar 20:27, 28 May 2004 (UTC)

I've noticed that several articles that have language options at the beginning generally have an extra carriage return, and there is a gaping whole between the title and the article (okay, it's not huge, but it's still ugly). Where would be a good place to point this problem out so a technical solution can be considered (rather than moving language options to the end of every article)? --Jeff 10:20, 30 May 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome. I could not see other languages from linux (like, tamil)--ganesh 20:29, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
- I meant that, in linux if I click on the tamil version (which is there in wikipedia), I only get junk displayed. It works well in windows. But, in windows I am not able to type in tamil. Do I need a tamil key board for this?
Hey, thank you very much for the welcome, it was most unexpected. I will not forget what a wonderful place this, and I will not forget your welcoming words. DaveLewis
Thanks for the welcome. I've already submitted a few edits over the past couple of days and I figured, why not register? This site has a lot of really interesting info. It's easy to get lost in (and learn lots of trivia along the way). Wikipedia may not be an experiment in anarchy, but I certainly find the project interesting considering how it's managed.--Mylon 01:31, 3 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Thanks, like all the others, for your welcome. The Wikipedia community becomes a reality for me! I've added the same sentiments to the 'New User' page. --Tiffer 09:29, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Sysop
Congratulations. You are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. Good luck. Angela. 23:01, 4 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Protection
Very few sysops have protected their user pages. I recommend you read m:Protected pages considered harmful before you consider doing this. My personal view if that sysops should not have the right to protect their user page when ordinary users can not. Adminship is supposed to be about protecting Wikipedia, not just your own pages. As far as your templates go, if you want to protect them, why not move them to your own user space? The new version of the software allows inclusion from other namespaces. For example, {{subst:User talk:Angela}} on any page would display the current version of my talk page there. Angela. 04:12, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Jupiter vs. Jupiter C Rocket
The Juptier IRBM and Jupiter C are two totally different missiles.
The Jupiter C is a stretched Redstone missile used to launch the Explorer I satellite, and test re-entry nosecones. It was fitted with small clustered solid fuel upper stages. It had up to four stages. The Jupiter C used Liquid Oxygen and Alcohol fuel.
The Jupiter IRBM was deployed in Italy and Turkey and was one of the
root causes of the Cuban missile crisis. It was a single stage missile.
The Jupiter IRBM used Liquid Oxygen and Kerosene (RP-1) fuel.
Here are links to pictures of each:
