Windfinder

This is the alias I use for almost everything online. I got it from one of my favorite series of books The Wheel of Time.

Brief History

Born in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester NY 1/26/86 Alex R., yeah I don't want you messing with my last name, has lived a normal boring suburban life. A decent student of greater than average intellegence his life has been highlighted with a smattering of traveling and small successes (academically and in sporting events). He graduated from his local High School this year an Honor Student, 2 sport athlete, and captain of the chess team.

Interests and Hobbies

Running - Ran both Cross Country and Track and was all county in Cross Country. I can run a 5k (3.2 miles) in under 18 minutes (17:30ish) , and a 2 mile in around 10:10. Best mile time ever would be about a 4:50. I still enjoy running for fun, and do it about every other day.

Chess - I was captain of my schools Chess team and the 2nd strongest player in my league. Our team won our league my Senior year and placed third at the Greater Rochester championship. Reading chess books, playing games online, and of course in person, are all ways that I enjoy the game. My chess rating is about a 1550-1650. I am not the elected vice president of the Marist Chess club. I will take over the position next fall.

Reading - Hands down this is what I am best at. At a casual reading pace I can read about 700-800 words a minute. For forced speed reading the range of 1000-1100 words per minute is obtainable, though the accuracy of retention will be much less. Reading is a passion for me and I have loved to eat up books sinse I was a child.

Writing - I love to write. Well... Ok I am a lazy bastard when it comes down to it, and I only write when the mood is right, so in actuality I only love to write some of the time.

Traveling - My family spoiled me on this one, and I love it!

Other stuff is in there, of course, but nothing that is interesting, just the usual computer fair ex: DVD burner.

I'm also a gamer, if you couldn't tell by the computer. Some of my favorite games include:

• Donkey Kong (Have beaten them all)
• Halo (I like the PC version more)
• Halo 2
• Mario games (Have beaten every one except the Game Cube one)

• Prince of Persia the Sands of Time
• Sim City 2000
• Starcraft (especially with Broodwar)
• Super Smash Brothers (I'm better at the origional)

College

I am attending Marist College, in Poughkeepsie NY, on an academic scholarship where I am studying Computer Science and English.

A Chess Game

Here is a chess game I want played in true wikipedia style. Anyone can change anymove, except ones that I made. So basically I will move, then the world will move and can keep changing their move untill I play my next one! I think it will be fun!
