Art historian, graduated with a master thesis on Internet-based art in 1997, and open content adept. I work as an archivist in a non-profit electronic art organization in the Netherlands. My contributions focus mainly on (artistic) photography, architecture and contemporary art, since these subjects are still quite underdeveloped on Wikipedia. Biographies and categorization are things I like to do. I also try to focus on non-American and non-technical subjects... ;-)
Other interests and hobbies include: environmentalism, copyright, international politics, open source and free software, world music, world literature, science fiction, fantasy, strategy games, travel. I'd like to learn more about world history, economics, fashion design, buddhism and law.

Update, September 2004: I haven't been editing much the last few months, due to reasons related to the heated debate on quality control on Wikipedia. I've felt quite demotivated by the lots of rubbish and self-promotion edited into contemporary culture-related articles. For such subjects, there's not such a thing as "verifyable truth" -- authority (ahem) is more important there. (Frankly, I'm quite a supporter of the implementation of a reputation system because of that.) But there's been a lot of good editing in this area as well lately, so I hope I'll be able to put myself together and go on with it soon.
