(Sam Katz is completely insane, don't waste your time reading this) Why is this formatted this way?

2 Reasons: 1) It was created at 4:09AM on May 27th, 2004 after talking to Noah at Godaddy setting up my virtual server I bought Linux and Windows + I almost bought a reseller account but because I don't have the business credit card yet I decided to wait (this is a more accurate story then the one I gave to Godaddy's "Customer Support Representative" named Noah. 2) I wanted to give my fellow Wikipedians a chance to demonstrate Wiki's power. 3) Is my domain name formatting schema which I invented called Convalescence, it is related to Realnames, which was no blockbuster and is considered by some to be a failure, but different, see the Sam Katz article for more on my ideas. I will eventually have a hosted wiki which I will resell service and support to Godaddy for if my president and future mentor Bob Parsons will help me.

Assisting other Wikipedia users

This is a free service that Sam Katz provides to the Wikipedia community as a volunteer service. He is dating/in a third degree preutopian penultimate relationship with Alexis Kier of New York and Earlham College who was recently offered a job at Six Apart owner of Livejournal based on a business-to-business referral.

First, let me answer the questions that arise

Someone wrote for help explaining user pages.

What is a user page?

This gets to the training side of my business-to-consumer freelancing and volunteer organization, Convalescence. Wikimedia offers the following services: Information on wikis and the software that powers it, and some support standard in the underdeveloped and underutilized business industry-- IRC, and a standard contact page. Some open source organizations will use Jabber, or maybe even its proprietary vendor, Jabber.com.

A user page is a cross between a wiki and a blog. It is not quite a sub-domain, and unlike my (IMHO) my schema which is comparatively better than (wikis--usage tooltip goes here.) it does not support subdomains or any delimiters other than colon and is therefore difficult to remember for mere mortals, and my girlfriend, well she would she would prefer I call her back and give her my undivided attention.

Questions for fellow wikipedians and answers

Explain the origins of convalescence, and apologize for wasting people's time/Why are your whoring and trolling?

I am an Internet history buff, a supporter of open source, and of wikis, and I also have cerebral palsy and mild stuttering. I had to think of ways to get beyond my phobias and stirring up controversy was indeed a valid way to do it. Civil disobedience has a long history on the Internet, and the benefit for Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation from stirring up a little was negligible.

There was another reason. I trusted the power of wiki and wanted to see what would happen. In my opinion, the spirit of wiki allows for such unbridled manic creativity which as my anxious parents know is a source of worry. However, they will benefit too, by free use of my services which are quite essential.

How old are you?

19, very tired and should be getting to bed. It is now 4:29PM.

What experience do you have at Wikipedia?

Numerous. I have looked for free encyclopedias ever since online and cd-rom encyclopedias for my Mac 68k quadra came into existence and was delighted to see that Apple was bundling Grolier's and later World Book with my new ibook (purchased in college by phone in 2005.)

questions for prospective employers, clients (non-profit, b2b, or b2b)

What's the baseline requirement for your clientel?

I do not want any hagglers or stragglers. They must have money set aside-- medium doesn't matter, but given my age I frequently have would-be clients do this to me.

Do you resell? Be honest.

Yes. I resell with vendors and see what services I can offer them in a business to business transaction.

My current technology setup and alliances?

I own a domain name library at Yahoo. I have a Yahoo Plus package. Reselling violates their Small Business Domain name hosting AUP, so I switched to Godaddy rather than contact Yahoo, Inc. (Corporate) corporate because Godaddy is a small business, and gives me more personal attention. I do not currently have a vendor selected to do the wiki sales and support, though I will use Liveperson for referrals and additional technology support. Godaddy doesn't support Liveperson so I offered to resell Liveperson (Google it) for now until I can get the wiki hosting up and running on my virtual server.

I also make recommendations for competitors. Pobox is another small, socially responsible company that simply does e-mail without web hosting.

TDS and SBC provide cell phones, pagers, phone service, and web hosting. So does Verizon. They have multiple divisions, and consequently multiple brand names. Too complex to put here, so if you want more information, and you've read this far, call me or e-mail me.

Phone number: (765) 914-6582

(B2B customers: Have your tech support document put this in a Word 2003 document with Reading view, a PDF file, Flash using Pages from Apple (part of the iWorks package since wikis are an open format and require no file conversion.

You write really well/Why did you disclose confidential information about pending contracts.

To get your attention, it worked didn't it? Your business is one with few competitors but a low barrier to entry. Based on a cost-benefit anaylasis, it made sense.

Both audiences: Aren't you breaking rules of the spirit of wiki?

Check the wiki textbook by the time I write it :-) Rules about wiki are as flexible as the spirit of wiki allows. I also have lawyers, and contacts at US Bank, the American Legion (I was governor at Badger Boys State.)

Both: Just out of curiousity, why do you name company names?

I have no contracts, I have no NDAs, and I think it will force companies I name to be more responsive to my complaints. Again the history of the Internet supports this with ] and Acersucks.com (not sure if I got the TLD write being the primary example.

Can I e-mail you instead of call?

I have a trial account with Pobox until I can get a full corporate account with them. E-mail katzconsulting@veribox.net.

How much were your startup?

My father is kind of loose with money. I hope it paid off, Dad. By using other small businesses for financial backing and credibility as well as logistical support (otherwise known as cost efficiency, and business networking which I learned from my [[stepmother[]] (almost, they get married after a relatively brief courtship tommorow.

Speaking of which--I'm off to bed after calling Godaddy to register a new domain name. It will be a lot easier this time.
