I am a 21-year-old college student at Carleton College, soon to be a graduate student at Wisconsin. I was a Wikipedian until August 18, 2004. I contributed to articles on a diverse array of topics, including a card game, Ambition, of which I was the primary developer.
Many Wikipedia users-- such as User:259, User:Lucky 6.9, and User:Lst27-- have been accused of my identity by disgraced users such as User:Metric Dollar, User:Isomorphic, and User:Tagishsimon. All these claims should be considered false. They stem from adversity, directed both at myself and my supposedly "elitist" card game, rooted in political differences.
Ambition: what is it?
Ambition is a four-player trick-taking card game wherein the object, usually, is to take points without taking the most in any given round. This makes it best to take the second largest total, but worst to take the largest total. (Exceptions, called "Nil" and "Slam", award bonuses for taking no tricks, or a large number of points, respectively.)
The strategy of Ambition is fairly complex. Therefore, serious card players often describe the game as "addictive", but it tends to be hit-or-miss with less serious players. Therefore, in light social situations I would advise against introducing Ambition, and recommend using a different, less complicated game. Still, Ambition with serious players can be a lot of fun.
