Wikipediholic's Therapy Clinic
Some therapy ideas for Wikipediholics. Please - add cures to our list!
The soft option
Go to a hypnotherapist for hypnotherapy. While you are in a trance, he/she will explain to you how you don't need Wikipedia and how Wikipedia is a waste of time. Of course, for those with strong minds or those who rely on Wikipedia as a life blood, this method may not prove effective
The definitive solution
- Acquire a wire clipper
- Climb up the telephone pole beside your house (the authors of this page are not responsible for any injuries sustained in doing so)
- Snip all the wires you can (warning - these may accidentally include neighbours' phone wires, power wires, street lamp power wires etc.)
You will now have no phone connection, so you will not be able to use Wikipedia. so your addiction is cured.
Warning: For those who use a cable modem, this solution may prove useless.
The really soft option
Make a resolution that you WILL NOT GO ON Wikipedia. (Extra moneymaking tip: get your friends to make bets on how long you will keep the resolution).
The Alternative
Content yourself with reading the Encyclopedia Britannica and scribbling in edits in the margins.
The over-the-top
Completely forget every English word you know. When you go to edit Wikipedia, you will suddenly realise that you don't understand a word. (This mightn't stop some users from editing!).
