- Hallo, my name is Uwe Kils. I am a Science Photographer (http://www.fishlarvae.com/photos.asp?AID=6&GID=57&PID=549), Camera Builder (http://www.ecoscope.com//ecos_t_1.htm) and Software Developer. Many years ago I was invited to give a plankton image to Wikipedia, and I liked the project - later moved 100 from my servers over for the free education project. I think the most important ingredients for the amazing evolution of humans are ""Neugier" (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neugier) and love. To explore into unknown waters (http://www.ecoscope.com/meer/index.htm) and space (http://www.ecoscope.com/space/index.htm) and to collect the beautiful and fascinating (http://marine.rutgers.edu/herring/iceberg/berg0013/index.htm). I always worked for free education, and as a teacher I trust that wikipedia is on its way to grow into a very usefull tool, especially for those schools and universities which have not high fundings, also for developmental countries. A great feature is the multi-language capability. The information here is much more correct than the "wild web", because the content is discussed amongst some 1500 + administrators and 200 000 coworkers, many of them scientists, librarians and/or philanthropists.

I am a citizen of Germany, in love with Danmark and Norge, have a beautiful wife and two sons.
I am with one of my hats Meeresbiologe (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meeresbiologie) from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (http://www.uni-kiel.de/) and the Institut für Meereskunde (http://www.ifm.uni-kiel.de/index-ifm.htm), worked at the new Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences (http://www.imcs.rutgers.edu), invited from Kiel. I know some about Antarctic krill and Atlantic herring and glasseels and developed high resolution in situ optics. We had the first NeXT and web server in Kiel University, the first fish webcam in the world, and my Antarctic krill image was the first animal ever cruising the web.
