English

As of May 2004, I have made over 27,000 edits on the English Wikipedia and edited over 100 other Wikipedias. I kept a list of the articles I'd edited on the English Wikipedia until I reached 10,000 which can be seen at Angela/10000. A lot of my edits are related to maintenance tasks, such as moving village pump discussions or dealing with the outcomes of votes for deletion. I try to keep the help pages up to date, both on en and meta, ensuring new features get documented. I am often involved in policy making. Examples include the protection policy page that I wrote, based on guidelines that had been made elsewhere. I often create help pages on small features that people take for granted which newcomers might not otherwise be aware of, such as the show preview button and link these from the standard welcome messages. I've worked on, or created, many of the pages in the MediaWiki User's Guide, such as the edit summary and diff pages.

Non-English

Over ten per cent of my edits are not made on the English Wikipedia. I am a bureaucrat on Simple (http://simple.wikipedia.org) and Meta (http://meta.wikipedia.org), so spend a lot of time on those two projects, and I am a sysop on the Korean (http://ko.wikipedia.org) and Latin (http://la.wikipedia.org) Wikipedias. I was a sysop at Wikisource (http://sources.wikipedia.org) and the Arabic (http://ar.wikipedia.org) Wikipedia when those projects were new, and asked for de-adminship when there were enough editors to handle the vandalism without me needing this access so that I could focus on other Wikimedia projects. I check all of the small Wikipedias on a weekly basis for signs of spam or obvious vandalism. Since becoming a Steward, I've spent more time communicating with other Wikipedias, and more recently Wiktionaries, to make sure they have the appropriate pages set up for requesting adminship.

MediaWiki

I have recently got involved in MediaWiki development and been given CVS access. I've made a few very small changes so far. [1] (http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-cvs/2004-January/000096.html)[2] (http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-cvs/2004-January/000097.html)[3] (http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-cvs/2004-April/001396.html)[4] (http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-cvs/2004-April/001242.html). The first was adding the disclaimers link to the top bar to remove the need for individual disclaimers within articles. To increase communication between sysops and users who are accidentally affected by an IP block, I added a variable to allow a link to a sysop's email address in the message displayed to blocked users. As of MediaWiki 1.3, edit summaries will be displayed on diff pages. I've also written something that allows PubMed links to be used in the same way ISBN links currently work. I regularly maintain the bugs and feature requests page on meta, and move items from there to the archive when they are resolved, or to SourceForge if they need more urgent attention. I summarise the wikitech-l mailing list for the goings-on page to increase the communication between developers and users who do not want to subscribe to that list.
