Template:Infobox Australian University The University of South Australia (commonly known as UniSA) was formed in 1991 when the South Australian Government merged the South Australian Institute of Technology and the South Australian Colleges of Advanced Education through the University of South Australia Act 1991 (http://www.parliament.sa.gov.au/Catalog/legislation/Acts/U/1990.60.htm).
The University of South Australia is a member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN). It was a joint founder of the ATN with Curtin University of Technology, RMIT University, University of Technology Sydney and Queensland University of Technology.

Campuses
There are two Adelaide central business district (CBD) campuses:
- City East (adjacent The University of Adelaide)
- City West
There are metropolitan campuses at Mawson Lakes (formerly The Levels) and Magill. Campuses at Salisbury and Underdale were closed and the programs moved to the remaining campuses.
There is one country campus at Whyalla.

Commercialisation
ITEK was formed in 1999, its role is to implement an integrated framework for the management of intellectual property, from the early stages of research through to commercialisation (from the ITEK website).
