USS Hull, named for Commodore Isaac Hull USN (1773-1843), was a Forrest Sherman class destroyer built by the Bath Iron Works Corporation at Bath in Maine and launched by Mrs. Albert G. Mumma.
Hull served as plane guard for carriers on Yankee Station in the Tonkin Gulf, participated in Sea Dragon operations, patrolled on search and rescue duties and carried out Naval Gunfire Support missions during the conflict in Vietnam.
