USS Barbel

Two submarines of the United States Navy have been named USS Barbel, after the barbel, a type of European carp.
- The first Barbel (SS-316), a Balao-class submarine, was commissioned in April 1944 and lost sometime in February 1945. (see other ships lost for more lost ships)
- The second Barbel (SS-580), the lead ship of her class, was in service from 1959 to 1989.
