Triangle is a census-designated place located in Prince William County, Virginia. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 5,500. It is bounded to the south by the Quantico Marine Corps Base, which surrounds the town of Quantico, Virginia. It is bounded to the north by the town of Dumfries, Virginia.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.8 km² (2.6 mi²). 6.8 km² (2.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 5,500 people, 2,196 households, and 1,341 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 807.4/km² (2,088.5/mi²). There are 2,318 housing units at an average density of 340.3/km² (880.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 61.07% White, 28.33% African American, 0.49% Native American, 2.87% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 3.58% from other races, and 3.55% from two or more races. 7.42% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,196 households out of which 33.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.4% are married couples living together, 15.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.9% are non-families. 29.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 3.13.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 13.2% from 18 to 24, 34.4% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 102.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 101.1 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $38,844, and the median income for a family is $43,811. Males have a median income of $32,017 versus $27,722 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $18,982. 8.8% of the population and 7.1% of families are below the poverty line.
