Trials of Life
|
Trials of Life is a BBC (in conjunction with The Australian Broadcasting Service and Turner Broadcasting System Inc.) natural history television series of twelve episodes, about animal behaviour, presented by David Attenborough, originally transmitted in October 1990.
The series took over three and a half years to make, during which time Attenborough travelled almost a quarter of a million miles.
The individual episodes are:
- Arriving
- Growing Up
- Finding Food
- Hunting and Escaping
- Finding the Way
- Homemaking
- Living Together
- Fighting
- Friends and Rivals
- Talking to Strangers
- Courting
- Continuing the Line
Each episode was just under 30 minutes long, recorded in 4:3 aspect ratio with stereo sound.
There was an accompanying book, and the series is available as a three- disc DVD set, with an extra, 50-minute feature The Making of Trials of Life.
[Note* The DVD edition in the David Attenborough Natural History Collection Boxset has the original 50 minute episodes, but the Trials Of Life DVD on its own has 30 min versions which are edited, sans credits. The original VHS version has the entire 50 minute episodes, if you can still get them - BP in CA]
