Trenton (2001 population 19,374) is a city on the Bay of Quinte in southern Ontario, Canada. In 1998 its city government merged with two outlying townships and the village of Frankford to become the city of Quinte West.
Trenton is the starting point for the Trent-Severn Waterway which continues northwest through Peterborough, Ontario.
Trenton is located just west of Belleville, Ontario, a small industrial city which manufactures everything from Black Diamond cheese to automotive air conditioning parts.
Canadian Forces Base Trenton, located on the east side of the town, is an important centre of Canadian Air Force operations and the home of its Transport Command.
