Track

The word track can have different meanings:
- a railroad track: see rail tracks
- a trail, informal road or pathway
- a distinct section (mostly on song) of a sound recording, such as a gramophone record or compact disc
- a circular segment of a hard disk or other storage media
- caterpillar tracks, the large (modular) tracks used on tanks and certain other off-road vehicles or such vehicles themselves (usually combat vehicles)
- a course laid out for running or racing, commonly oval-shaped, see
- the measured distance between right and left side wheels of a vehicle, as opposed to wheelbase
- in particle physics, a track is the reconstruction of the signals recorded in a detector after the passage of a particle.
