Town and Country is a census-designated place located in Spokane County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 4,452.
Geography
Town and Country is located at 47°43'17" North, 117°25'17" West (47.721441, -117.421383)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.6 km² (1.4 mi²). 3.6 km² (1.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 4,452 people, 1,829 households, and 1,263 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 1,227.8/km² (3,170.8/mi²). There are 1,894 housing units at an average density of 522.3/km² (1,348.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.28% White, 1.46% African American, 1.53% Native American, 0.97% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Islander, 0.70% from other races, and 1.93% from two or more races. 2.13% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,829 households out of which 28.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% are married couples living together, 10.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% are non-families. 26.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.91.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 89.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.6 males.
