Template:Album infobox Tim is a 1985 (see 1985 in music) album by The Replacements. The album was a huge success among critics and on college radio, and helped the band's fanbase grow considerably. Tim is somewhat more clean and accessible than The Replacements' previous efforts, but still maintains a garage rock sound.
The band never achieved financial success.
Stylistically, the album shows Paul Westerberg's diverse influences, including Alex Chilton's Big Star on "Hold My Life", Roy Orbison and Duane Eddy on "Swinging Party" and Chuck Berry and Nick Lowe on "Kiss Me on the Bus". Lyrically, the album is typical of Westerberg's style. The songs are an assortment of alienated narratives from a motley crew of low lifes and losers, often tragically unable to function as a responsible adult.
Like its predecessor Let It Be, Tim is one of the most acclaimed albums of its era. Tim placed 136th on Rolling Stone's 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All-Time, and it ranked #4 in the Associated Press list of the Top 99 albums of 1985-1995. Along with Let It Be, it is one of two Replacements albums to receive the rare full five stars from the All Music Guide.
The album peaked at #183 on the Billboard Music Chart's Top 200.
