Tigershark multirole fighter

The F/A-105 Tigershark was a multirole fighter deployed by the Confederation in the fictional Wing Commander computer game. It was deployed in the 2680s as a replacement for the Hellcat V medium fighter.
Two versions were deployed in the war.
The F/A-105A carried two lasers, two mass drivers and two charging mass drivers. Her missile loadout generally consisted of four heatseeking missiles, two IFF missiles, two image-recognition missiles and 36 unguided rockets. In wild-weasel configuration the IFF and heatseeking missiles were replaced with anti-turret homing missiles.
The F/A-105B carried four ion guns as armament while the missile loadout remained the same.
In the Nephilim war, the Tigershark performed admirably in its intended role as a multi-role fighter, seeing frequent use in all theatres. It could competently fight enemy fighters as well as perform light strike (courtesy of its rocket pods) or suppression of enemy defenses with its missiles and rockets. Its two primary nemeses were "Squid" interceptors, which could afterburn out of combat range and recharge its shields, and "Manta" heavy fighters, whose increased defenses could be difficult for the Tigershark to penetrate. Wise Tigershark pilots armed their charging mass drivers when fighting either foe.
The F-105 is named after the tiger shark. Tiger sharks have a reputation for viciousness and cunning, and unlike most sharks, they hunt alone.
