Threshold (band)
|
Threshold is a progressive metal band formed in Surrey, England in the late 1980s, releasing their debut album Wounded Land in 1993. Original vocalist Damian Wilson parted afterwards, and the band recruited Glyn Morgan for 1994's Psychedelicatessen. The band recorded again in 1997, with Wilson back at the microphone on Extinct Instinct. Two weeks before Threshold were to begin recording 1998's Clone, however, Damian Wilson abruptly left, but was replaced with Andrew "Mac" McDermott (ex-Sargant Fury) who remains with them today. Mac recorded Clone, and went on to front the band on 2001's Hypothetical, 2002's Critical Mass, 2003's live effort Critical Energy, which was also released on DVD, and 2004's Subsurface.
Threshold is now considered one of the leading ProgMetal bands, alongside Dream Theater, Queensr˙che and Ayreon.
