The Everlasting was released by Manic Street Preachers on November 30 1998 and is the second single to be released from the This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours. All three members of the band, James Dean Bradfield, Sean Moore and Nicky Wire share the writing credits.
The original release included "Black Holes For The Young" and "Valley Boy"; a second CD single featured a Deadly Avenger remix and a Stealth Sonic Orchestra remix.
The promotional video that accompanied the song was censored due to the fact that it contained people on fire.
