The Basin, Victoria

The Basin is a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in the state of Victoria. It is in the Local Government Area of the City of Knox.
It gets its name from the Liverpool Road Retarding Basin.
It has much nature. One important natural place is the Salvation Army Hall, which is used for school camps, conferences and functions. There is much vacant land, and some farmland as well as light residential development. Also there are parks and forests. Important buildings include the Elderly Citizens Hall. There are also shops and restaurants.
The suburb has one primary school: The Basin Primary School.
