Since Gandalf was a Maia he probably came from the Undying Lands in the first place, so he didn't need special permission to return. Lee M 03:10, 8 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- You are correct in your assessment that Gandalf came from the Undying Lands. I don't know of any Tolkien writings that say Wizards couldn't go back or that Gandalf's return was a "special arrangement". I have removed the reference to Gandalf. Eric119 05:17, Mar 21, 2004 (UTC)
