Is this really such a well-known or universal term? (If it is, can I see some evidence? I only found about 2,000 references on Google [1] (http://www.google.com/search?as_q=Tolkienist&num=10&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=lang_en&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images), most of which were duplicates of this article or else from non-English sites. There were over 18,000 for "Tolkien fan". [2] (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=%22Tolkien+fan%22)) I think I qualify as a member of the group described, and I've rarely encountered it. (My personal experience has been that we do not have a single term of choice for "Tolkien fan". I don't like implying that this is the universal term.) Aranel 16:43, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
